If you are having trouble with tight muscles and just want them to relax and would like to do it with something natural. Go to your local health food store or order some ground kava root online you can also get it in powdered form. You can check it out at this website(www.nakmalathome.com) or there are several other places you can order it online. Mix about 2 tablespoons to 1/2 a cup of lotion to make a paste.(try to use a lotion that is natural and calming for the skin nothing fancy) Make sure it is thick. The kava will have to sit in the lotion for the active ingredients to mix with the ingrediants of the lotion at least an hour or two. Then take the paste and place a thin to medium layer on the area where it is hurting or tight be sure to cover the entire muscle that is tight. Then cover it with serran wrap or a muscle wrap and let it sit at least an hour no more than 90 mins. The Kava will slowly start to relax the muscles and also numb the area so if there is any pain it will help to releve it. Then unwrap and wash the paste off. Be careful after doing this do not do anything too strenuous with the muscles you have relaxed to keep them that way and also just incase you have a tear in the muscle. You do not want it to tear more and not know it because the area is numb. Try this at home to get some relief. I have done it many times and I am always impressed with the results. By the way if you do not leave it on for at least an hour you will not see any results. Also, if it starts to itch or sting be sure and wash it off imediatly just in case you are allergic to it.
Now that everyones getting ready for spring and summer, our skin is a delicate subject. Consider taking a milk bath to help release the excess dead cells from your skin. Go to the store and pick up organic milk. Whole milk for drier skin and low fat or skim for olier skin. Put at least 4 cups into your bath water and soak for at least 30 mins. If you are lactose intolerant be sure and use a milk alternative such as coconut milk instead. The grocerie stores carry it now in the milk section. I did a coconut milk bath the other day and it was very nice. You can also put both into the water for an added treat. After soaking for a while you might want to have a loofa or a scrubing mit and rub down your body while still in the bath to release the dead skin cells. Then towel off and be sure and moisturize your skin afterwards. Coconut or jojoba oil are great for the skin and you only need a little.
